"In all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us."
Titus 2:7-8 NASB

Mr. Cannon - JH & HS Science

The 2014-2015 school year will be my second to teach middle and high school science at SHAPE Academy. I joined the SHAPE teaching staff after almost 40 years in the aerospace industry as an engineer, project manager, technical communications specialist and international industrial participation manager. These experiences provide me a unique perspective on the practical application of science in the workplace and opportunity to impart it to our students. Additionally, having a family with wife, three sons, two daughters-in-law and two grandchildren has enriched my life and enhanced my love for children.

I am excited to have the opportunity to help students understand the science of God's creation and the opportunity to see them grow in spirit and in truth. And, while not everyone chooses science or engineering as their career path, my desire is that each student come to appreciate the magnificent creation that God has given us to live in - and to be able to apply our understanding of how it works in their everyday lives.

The concepts that we study, whether they be General or Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics, can be challenging, but during class time, we make use of real-world examples -  ones that students are constantly surrounded by in their everyday lives. We also perform safe experiments to reinforce the material that we are studying and create added interest and excitement. I communicate with parents on a regular basis, usually via weekly emails, to keep them abreast of activities, assignments and performance successes and challenges but am available to talk anytime either during after-school conferences or a quick telephone conversation.

Ultimately, the student's academic success is the goal but I want them to achieve that success through a positive, Christ-like experience. This is the way SHAPE Academy works day-in and day-out - committed teachers with hearts for God and his children.

    Mrs. Dennis - 5th Grade/6th Grade

This is my third year to teach at SHAPE Academy.  Before teaching at SHAPE, I spent  thirteen years teaching various grade levels at North Central Texas Academy.  I graduated  from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education.  I then acquired my  certification in the state of Texas to teach first through eighth grade with an endorsement in  Life-Earth Science and Social Studies Composite.  I am proud to have the opportunity to  teach at SHAPE Academy.  It is a wonderful Christian school for kids to learn and grow.  SHAPE Academy encourages students to believe in themselves and to do their personal  best.

    Mrs. Harwell - 2nd Grade

    Mrs. Holley - Administration

Miss Ingram - Music, SMArt, Voice, & Latin

I began teaching at SHAPE Academy in 2011 as a voice instructor and have since added 5th & 6th Grade Music and Latin classes. During my time at SHAPE, I have come to appreciate and grow   passionate about home schooling. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Tarleton State University, with a minor in English grammar and linguistics. My passion is vocal performance. Having recently been led into education, I am thankful to teach at a school where I may express my faith without fear of criticism or rebuke.

I believe each student is uniquely designed and gifted and that it is in their best interests to draw on their strengths and help them to work with their weaknesses. I maintain an open communication with parents via email after each class. SHAPE is a partnership between staff and families, and I welcome the opportunity to communicate with parents to the benefit of their students.
